Meet The Captain

Captain Ryan grew up in Jacksonville Beach and on the water, learning all about fishing as a young boy. Those memories and experiences sparked a lifelong love of the sport, and decided to continue his love professionally with his family by opening Reel Adventures Fishing Charters. Fishing is more than just catching fish. It’s creating memories, experiencing the thrill of your first catch, spending time with your friends and family. It’s enjoying your surroundings and the natural beauty in this world. It’s about teaching someone something new and challenging. Captain Ryan and his family aim to do just that for every guest on board during their fishing charter experience.

Captain Ryan Richey has a wealth of knowledge and does his best to meet any fishing needs you may have. He offers fishing charters out of Jacksonville, St. Augustine, St. John’s River, Mayport and surrounding territories. Fish inshore in the shallow waters for a calmer day, or head to the deep sea on the Atlantic Ocean for large game fish like Mahi, Marlin, Tuna and more. Younger anglers are welcome and must be 6 years or older.

On your journey, you will target various types of fish from King Fish, Cobia, various types of Snapper and Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Triggerfish, Sea Bass, Wahoo, Tarpon, Flounder, Sheepshead, and redfish, to name just a few. Using light and heavy tackle, you can attract fish by bottom fishing, as well as trolling, and jigging. All of which Captain Ryan will be happy to show you. You are free to keep legal fish but you can release it if you want. If conditions allow you will fish nearshore, or head offshore and fish the wrecks, and reefs. Captain Ryan enjoys teaching the young about fishing, baiting the hook, and casting that first cast and the smile on their face as they bring in their first catch. Captain Ryan provides all the quality fishing equipment, licenses, lures, light, and heavy tackle, to catch the “big one”.
